Hey everyone,
Let's get together at least once a week (either Saturday/Sunday) to run as a group at the No 1 Running Location in Bangalore. Our general meeting place in the Ganesha Temple within the campus.
What makes GKVK so special? One of our GKVK regualars, BB Patil, put it nicely "nice traffic-free roads, less crowded grounds, scenic trails and a pollution free atmosphere". Perfect for runs of any distance.
So what are you waiting for? Feel free to call for a run at any time using the discussion section and/or the "Send Message to Group" option of this group.

Directions to the GKVK campus:
The campus is located just before Jakkur Air Force Station.
a.. You have to get to Mekhri Circle and take the road to Hebbal.
b.. It is a straight road from Mekhri Circle to Hebbal flyover.
c.. Go up and down the flyover without taking any deviations.
d.. From the foot of the flyover if you go 3kms you will find L&T Komatsu office on your left.
e.. GKVK campus is the property next to L&T Komatsu
f.. Enter the GKVK campus gate (there is a Mahatma Gandhi statue next
to the gate)
Once you are in front of UAS campus gates:
a.. Get into the campus from this gate without any hesitation and go
straight till you pass two big playgrounds on your left.
b.. Look for a basketball court on your left and on going a little ahead you will find a Ganesha temple to your left.
c.. The Ganesha Temple in UAS Campus is the starting point. There is ample parking space available near the temple.

Hi All,
I had run twice at GKVK on road during RFL run and wanting to the trail run for long time.myself with Ramprasad,Rishi and amritha ran 3 loops 30+ in 3hrs 20mnts on sunday and it was a fantastic experience with an occassional mild shower.THIS ROUTE is very similar to the full marathon route of Auroville and recomend this as a practice route for all those planning to run marathon at Auroville next year.
Finally i agree with sabine it is one of the best running locations in Bangalore.

Had a great run at GKVK this morning! Thanks to all who turned up. Did a mix of road and trail in a loop of around 8.5 K.
Won't be able to organize a run next weekend as I am with the RGIs (RunnerGirlsIndia) but am hoping for one of you guys/gals to call for a run either on Saturday or Sunday. To call for a run just do a post here in the Discussion section and then also send a mail out to the GKVK group using the "Send Message to Group" option.
