Runners For Life

Hallo, this is Mike from Thane - Maharashtra, age 47 years, I have been running for the past 10 years, but lately i find that i tend to hit the wall at about 11 kms. in my regular Sunday run, what could be the reason, is it the food or it is inadequate practice ?

to hit the wall at 11k, you are definitely running too fast for your fitness levels.

what is your weekly mileage usually and what is the avg speed?

Dear Pravin - Thanks, my avarage milage daily is 4 to 5 kms, my avarage speed is about 7 to 8 mins. per km, which is medium fast running. - mike-thane

the speed doesnt seem excessive considering you run daily.perhaps you are running on empty?.

i went thru your blog some days back and was surprised to read you advocating emptying the stomach with some sort of purgative before long runs/ races. in my opinion, thats very dangerous. it could leave one famished and exposed to viral attacks.

I do advocate cleaning out the stomach one a month to get rid of all the rot -Acid- which gets accumalated over a period of time, this way there are fewer aches & pains after long runs, it works for me. Patankar kada is Ayurvedic solution which has been arround for ages. i see not harm to anyone.
any thanks for replying. i will try running full the next time.
