Runners For Life

What is your opinion about road running? I run on the road because I don't feel motivated to take out my bike/car and drive up to some big park just to run and then drive back.
Is it harmful (assuming you have decent running shoes) ??

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Cheers

Hi, I have been doing road running for more than 11 years now. I only run on alternate days and do a lot of knee stretching exercises after the run and also daily as a part of my routine. It's great, you meet a lot of people on the way, and yes you need a decent pair of shoes (preferably branded ones). Cheers!

11 years! WOW. Thanks for the input Ram, I guess I will try and tweak my routine a little. and also as I see in this forum, a lot of people have clocked themselves vis-a-vis distance. Something I never did. I think I will try that too and see where I stand.

Thanks for the tip.
Cheers & Happy Running..

Thanks Ram, Pravin & Gautam.
Actually my question stemmed from a discussion I had a while ago with a bunch of people (now I realise that they didn't know any shit about real running). And even though I run on the Roads, this little niggling thing kept creeping back in my head.
Good to hear in the affirmative from fellow runners.

Cheers!
